We always choose the timber from healthy, slowly and straight grown trees. Only the best qualities will be processed to tonewood, because we know how much the wood quality affects the sound of the instrument. Therefore we have choosen from exotic and domestic species and dried the wood very carefully.
For different instruments like guitars, clarinettes, flutes or marimbas there are a number of special species which you can choose from. Every type of wood affects the sound, especially the wood structure, the density and the ability to swing.
Besides the often used and well known types like African Blackwood, Boxwood or Ebony, you can also try out other species.
We have so many different species available, the diversity of the wood properties is very big so there can be achieved great results with trying new combinations. Do not hesitate do ask us if you have any questions.
For building high quality flutes and clarinetts, we offer African Blackwood, Castello Boxwood or Pearwood, also exotic timber like Cocus (Brya ebenus) or Mopani.
Standard dimensions are always available, we are also open to requests for custom productions of dimensions with different measurements.
For the classic musical instrument, the chello, double bass or violin, Ebony is often used as the fingerboard or the violin bow.
Choose from Ebony or Snakewood in different dimensions or even half logs. We are open to requests for custom productions.
Today a long list of wood is used for guitar building. Cedar or Maple for the neck, East Indian Rosewood or Mahogany for bottoms and sides, Ebony or Ziricote for fingerboards.
